According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ColdFusion:
"ColdFusion is a commercial rapid application development platform invented by Jeremy and JJ Allaire in 1995. Originally designed to make it easier to connect simple HTML pages to a database, by version 2 it had become a full platform that included an IDE in addition to a full Scripting Language. Current versions of ColdFusion, sold by Adobe Systems, include advanced features for enterprise integration and development of rich internet applications. ColdFusion primarily competes with PHP and ASP."

- sarah gates on Aug 16, 2011 at 6:16 PM Cold Fusion is a programming language which is based on the HTML i.e. (Hypertext markup language) and is mostly used for writing dynamic pages. Another definition of ColdFusion would be its usage that is where it is used. ColdFusion is a part of a bigger picture as a part of VPS family with the multiple functions which can be found on VPS and services. ColdFusion programming is entirely something different, because even if it is based on the HTML code, the programming steps and the process itself is totally different from the most famous internet programming applications and languages, like PHP, ASP.NET, etc&however those techniques are still supported by ColdFusion.Interesting things you find on this subject on this site http://www.vpswebserver.com/windows-vps/what-is-coldfusion?
